High Table Dinner | This Night to Make Merry in Stars and the Next Day to Enjoy Life like Flowers
2020 High Table Dinner of Diligentia College was held on Thanksgiving Day. Nearly 700 people attended the dinner.
First came the college song by Diligentia Chorus and a dance, beautiful singing and graceful dancing taking the minds far away.
Next, Prof. GU Yang, the Associate Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen and president of Diligentia College, delivered a welcome speech. She expressed gratitude to all fighting against COVID-19 and wished freshmen could turn the epidemic experience into virtues and treasures in life. She also mentioned various student organizations and activities in Diligentia. Prof. GU Yang ended with her wish: brave the wind and the waves to your dreams.
Then, Mr. Wu Manqing, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Manager of China Electronics Technology Group, and Board Member of Diligentia College, explained big data’s significant role in fighting the epidemic. It is worth mentioning that Wu abandoned an open reply for his project to attend this dinner, showing the importance of focusing on the future personally. 
Vice President Ruan Jiancong presented souvenirs for him. After all seated, Mr. Ruan toasted blessings and the banquet ushered in the climax.
The Diligentia Chorus came on the stage again and performed another lovely song; a violin performance followed; and a Chinese classical dance ended the grand banquet. This night meant all the same to Diligentians, destined to be a precious memory in their lives.
