Student Coach Program
The Student Coach Program is an integral part of the Youth Leadership Program at Diligentia College. This initiative consists of a group of outstanding senior students, each leading a team of 4-7 freshmen. Throughout the freshmen's first academic year, the Student Coaches provide multifaceted support, including academic guidance and interpersonal relationship advice. With this assistance, freshmen can quickly familiarize themselves with the campus, better integrate into university life, and establish a strong sense of belonging to the college and the university.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, a total of 35 Student Coaches were recruited, supporting 210 freshmen. From August 2024 to June 2025, the Student Coaches organized a variety of activities based on the needs of the freshmen. These activities included campus tours, course selection guidance, group dinners, one-on-one sharing sessions, group Q&A discussions, recreational and sports activities, among others, providing comprehensive support to help freshmen adapt to both academic and daily life.
The Student Coaches also pioneered a series of Study Workshop activities. Drawing from their own experiences and expertise, senior students carefully designed workshops addressing common challenges faced by freshmen. These workshops received enthusiastic responses. Throughout the academic year, 34 Student Coaches conducted a total of 14 Study Workshops, covering topics such as English learning, time management, public speaking, emotional self-regulation, PPT skills, academic paper research, mathematics learning, curriculum rules, course selection guidance, AI learning tools, campus resources, exam preparation, civic and general education, and summer planning. Over 200 students participated in these workshops in total.
According to 122 anonymous feedback forms collected from members of the Student Coach groups, the majority of freshmen rated the program highly. Across dimensions such as enhancing their sense of belonging, serving as role models, supporting academic and daily life, and sharing information, the program achieved an approval rating of over 90%.
