Residential Regulations of Diligentia College

The Chinese University of HongKong, Shenzhen

1. PRINCIPLES

 1.1  Diligentia College is a fully residential college. The College aspires to break down the boundaries of schools and majors, aiming to develop a diversified community where students are immersed in a harmonious environment. Hence, they can mingle with peers and teachers from different cultural and social backgrounds, and build intimate and lasting relationships with one another. All students belong to Diligentia College and must abide by its regulations. They share the responsibility of creating a safe and harmonious residential environment.  

1.2  Diligentia College advocates a nurturing approach to students’ whole-person development through non-formal education. A variety of co-curricular activities have been launched to strengthen students’ physical and mental well-being, foster their sense of national identity, global vision, citizenship and social responsibility, enhance their leadership skills, and nurture their aesthetics and innovative spirit.

1.3 As approved by the University, all full-time students at Diligentia College are required to live in dormitories arranged by the College throughout their normal study period (exceptions may apply in the following cases related to: exchange or visiting programs, internships, suspension of study, disciplinary actions, public health concerns, or special needs).

1.4 Diligentia College Office is responsible for the daily operation and management of the College; it formulates, implements, and upholds college regulations.

1.5 Wardens are appointed by Diligentia College and work in collaboration with College Office to uphold residential regulations and manage student affairs.

1.6 Resident Tutors (hereinafter referred to as “Tutors”) assist Wardens in managing student affairs and are supervised jointly by Wardens and College Office.
