Whetstone Study Programme|The Symphony of Plateau and Bay
Program Overview:
Qinghai Yushu Tibetan Medical School, a charity school built with love, not only helps children from farming and herding families rewrite their life trajectories through education but also shoulders the dual mission of preserving Tibetan medical culture and alleviating the shortage of medical resources on the plateau. In early 2025, with the support of caring individuals in society, Diligentia College invited 12 teachers and students from the Qinghai Yushu Tibetan Medical School to leave the plateau and travel over 3,000 kilometers to participate in the “Youth Camp: Bridging the Bay Area” at Diligentia College. Guided by Diligentia students, they experienced the dynamic development of the Bay Area and immersed themselves in the rich academic atmosphere of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
The Qinghai Yushu Tibetan Medical School is committed to training rural doctors, improving the medical system in Tibetan regions, and promoting traditional medicine. It strives to become a cradle of Tibetan medical talent on the Qinghai Plateau. By leveraging its professional strengths and addressing societal needs, the school has established an integrated model of self-sustainability, teaching practice, and industry-education collaboration.
This July, we will fulfill our promise to meet again during the summer, continuing this bond and contributing our efforts to the construction and development of the school. During this study tour program, Diligentia College will utilize teaching classes, combined with AI tools, to bring new knowledge and broad perspectives to Tibetan students. Beyond the classroom, students will deeply experience the unique charm of Tibetan culture and the profound heritage of Tibetan medicine. Additionally, we will explore the effective use of new media platforms to build a network for the dissemination of Tibetan medical culture, promoting its popularization and development. Diligentia College is dedicated to working hand in hand with our Tibetan compatriots in Yushu, making mutual exchange and learning the strongest bond in forging the Chinese national community.
