On 18 November 2020, Dr. Zhang Liwen from HSS was invited to share with Diligentia students about her knowledge of western dining etiquette and wine tasting.

Learning about dining etiquette is necessary to prepare for future occasions like commercial conferences, where you are expected to socialize while dining. Dr. Zhang invited a student as her assistant on stage.

Under Dr. Zhang’s instruction, the assistant showed the audience proper manners of tableware setting, tableware etiquette, and dining requirements. Then it came to wine tasting.

Dr. Zhang believed there is no specific standard for the quality of wine; the wine you like best is your perfect choice. She also introduced the features of sparkling wines, red wines, white wines, and dessert wines.
