On 18 November 2021, Diligentia College was honored to invite Shan Wen, a performer and the fourth-generation inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Kunqu, along with Kunqu performers Ms. Tao Yichun and Mr. Zhang Zhengyao, to talk about handsome and beauty in Kunqu.

First, Ms. Shan introduced the performance of “Guimendan,” one of the typical female characters in Kunqu. Except for lecturing, she also had three students upstage and put makeups of typical female and male Kunqu characters on them. Additionally, when explaining the singing of Kunqu, three performers sang some famous Kunqu arias, helping students better understand the beauty of Kunqu.
