On 4 December 2017, Diligentia students gathered in A106 to have tea and chat with Dr. Chen Rui. Dr. Chen first shared his study experiences. With a humorous and light tone, he quickly made students feel closer and more comfortable talking with him. He also gave students advice on how to plan their university life.

Stressing the significance of passion, Dr. Chen suggested first-year students find their passion and direction in life. In year two, they could try to access more information about their choice of major and consider their career path.
