On 12 April 2022, RSADC invited Dr. Lin Chengchuan on Zoom to talk about the adaptation of Journey to the West, a Chinese classic written in the Ming Dynasty. It is famous for its sense of humor and cynical ideas. The classic has many derivative works, such as movies and shows.

Dr. Lin presented the classic’s features and then focused on a film derived to discuss how the film inherited the comedy features of the novel and creatively designed a tragic ending. Although the talk was online, students interacted actively with Dr. Lin and raised interesting questions for further discussion.
