On 13 April 2021, RSADC invited Dr. Jin Jia to talk about the difference between ancient and modern Chinese. First, Dr. Jin Jia played videos about Chinese poems recitation from different periods, vividly presenting the difference in Chinese speaking tone and pronunciation.

She then introduced the divergence in typology between ancient and modern Chinese, pointing out that although modern Chinese has evolved a lot from ancient Chinese, the change follows internal laws. Knowing these laws, people can have a deeper understanding of the current online language ecology.
