The First College High Five Youth Student Innovation Summit was Successfully Held
Young people are a vital force for the nation and the country to move towards prosperity and are the core engine for advancing society. From November 15 to 18, 2023, the first College High Five Youth Student Innovation Summit was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Founded by Diligentia College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), the summit aims to build a broader stage for young people to practice and innovate, provide richer opportunities for young people to shape their lives, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between young student leaders and student organizations in universities, and promote joint development. Outstanding young representatives from Tsinghua University, Chongqing University, Fudan University, University of Macau, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Chinese University of Hong Kong registered for the conference.

Our Opportunities and Challenge
As one of the activities of the 25th Hi-Tech Fair - Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Industry-University-Research Innovation Cooperation and Exchange Conference, the first summit forum was officially launched on the morning of November 17, 2023, at the Shaw International Conference Center of Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). WU Yihuan, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of CPPCC; LUO Zhiquan, Vice President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen); ZHU Shiping, Vice President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen); GU Yang, Dean of Diligentia College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and ZhANG Yuanzhe, representative of Xinya College of Tsinghua University, jointly unveiled the summit.
The College focuses on whole-person development and creates many non-formal educational opportunities to provide the soil for the cultivation of young student leaders. On behalf of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), the manager of Diligentia College, Ms. Zheng Xiaotian, welcomed the students from afar, hoping that they would immerse themselves in the college culture of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and the rapid development of the Greater Bay Area during the three-day event. The summit’s theme was “Integrating into the World Stage, Our Opportunities and Challenges”.
According to the theme, the student representatives of various universities had a heated discussion on related topics such as cross-cultural communication and cooperation among contemporary Chinese youth, innovative and entrepreneurial thinking, and how young people can play an active role in global affairs in the context of globalization.
The summit included a high-table dinner, the Grand View of Diligentia College— a visit to BYD, an engine enterprise in the Greater Bay Area, Diligentia et Sapientia — lecture by Professor NIU Zhisheng of the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University, Diligentia Golf, and Diligentia’s 7th Anniversary Lawn Music Festival.
Teachers and students from the seven universities gathered together to expand their horizons and establish deep friendships with each other, which will further strengthen connections in the future, empower youth innovation, strengthen cross-regional cooperation in multiple fields, and inject new vitality into the rapid development of the younger generation.
