2024 College High Five Youth Student Innovation Summit was successfully held
In the wave of globalization, the young generation, with its unique perspective and innovative spirit, is becoming an important force to promote social progress. From November 13 to 16, 2024, the 2nd College High Five Young Student Innovation Summit was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Launched in 2023, the summit provided an excellent platform for young students worldwide to exchange ideas and share experiences. This year, outstanding youth representatives from Tsinghua University, London School of Economics and Political Science, Chongqing University, Xiamen University, University of Macau, Zhejiang University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) participated in the summit. While communicating and learning from each other, the students also experienced the college culture of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and the vigorous development of the Greater Bay Area.
Spotlight on the Summit
On the morning of Friday, November 15, the 2024 College High Five Young Student Innovation Summit was held with the theme of "The Impact of AI on Higher Education: Benefits, Challenges and Inspiration", which attracted the active participation of many college teachers and students.
Professor GU Yang, Dean of Diligentia College, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Dr. YANG Guohua, Assistant President of the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University, Shenzhen, and Ms. LU Yi, Director of the New College Planning Office of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen attended the summit. Dr. YANG Guohua delivered a speech on behalf of the university and sent a message to the young people present to look at the world and forge ahead. MEI Ciqi, Dean of Xinya College of Tsinghua University, WU Xiaozhi, Dean of Hongshen College of Chongqing University, LIAO Wei, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Creativity and Innovation of Xiamen University, Gao Chenyan of Zhu Kezhen College of Zhejiang University, and dozens of youth representatives from eight universities gathered together to exchange views, conduct in-depth discussions, establish friendship, perceive the exogenous trend of change, and convey positive internal strength around the theme of the summit.
Ms. ZHENG Xiaotian, Manager of Diligentia College, gave a warm speech and warmly welcomed the guests, teachers, and students. Student representatives from various universities took the stage to share their unique insights on artificial intelligence's role in higher education.
In the Q&A session, the teachers and students present had a lively discussion and spoke freely, discussing how artificial intelligence will affect the development of higher education in the future. This collision of ideas not only promoted the exchange of different views, but also provided a valuable opportunity for participants to inspire each other.
Based on the success of the first summit, this summit innovated the agenda arrangement, enriched the connotation of the event, invited the representatives to watch the drama performance of the Lion Drama Club of Diligentia College for the first time, and immersed themselves in a cultural feast of drama. At the same time, during the summit, Diligentia College planned and carried out a series of activities such as the Grand View of Diligentia College - World Youth Bay Area Tour to Huawei, Diligentia Golf, and a visit to the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Teachers and students from the eight universities gathered at Diligentia College, established deep friendships with each other, and experienced the unique college culture of Hong Kong Chinese University (Shenzhen).
Young people are the core force that promotes the progress of human civilization.
