Xiaohanxi, Class of 2020, Diligentia College, School of Management and Economics, Majoring in Financial Engineering

Financial Engineering, a magical field that blends mathematics, computer science, finance, and statistics, presented both challenges and adventures for Xiaohanxi, but above all, opportunities. When she first stepped into the world of financial engineering, she felt no fear, only a thirst for knowledge and excitement for exploring uncharted territories. She navigated this new ocean of knowledge with ease. In her diverse studies, she gradually explored her future career path, with each research project and internship solidifying her journey in financial engineering.

Throughout her four years of undergraduate studies, she received honours such as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen's Bowen Scholarship, Diligentia College's Zhuoqun Award Scholarship, and the School of Management and Economics' Dean's List. Now, she is set to embark on the next chapter of her life at Cornell University. Fearless about the future, Xiaohanxi will continue to pioneer in the field of financial engineering with the same初心 she had when she first embarked on this path.
 

Outside of academia, singing is undoubtedly the brightest card in Xiaohanxi's deck. On campus, she served as the Deputy Minister of the Vocal Department of the Julebu Music Club and as a member of the choir, gracing the stage multiple times. Her melodious voice and impressive singing skills earned her the title of "Top Ten Campus Singers." Over four years, she participated in more than thirty performances, from freshman dances to Mid-Autumn festivals, sports opening ceremonies, anniversary concerts, and era music festivals, leaving her mark everywhere.

As a performer, she warms others with her singing while accumulating experience for herself. From the sunken plaza to the auditorium of the conference centre, many places have witnessed her confidence and growth. What she is most proud of, however, is the band she founded herself, "Deep Blue Melody". Together with other members who share a passion for music, they chase their deep blue dreams, articulating every bit of deep blue emotion. Over the past four years, regardless of the size of the performance, she and her bandmates have always approached their work with the same serious and passionate attitude, from rehearsals to the stage, always striving for the best outcome. "Singing has become an indispensable part of my life," says Xiaohanxi. It is believed that the power of this music will accompany her for a lifetime."

“Unforgettable, there must be echoes" is a phrase Xiaohanxi always believes in. When it comes to her expectations for her younger schoolmates, she only wishes that everyone can spend a healthy and happy four years in university. Health, happiness, confidence, and sunshine – this is the true portrayal of Xiaohanxi's four years of university life. Singing passionately on stage and living wholeheartedly offstage might be the best interpretation of university and youth.
